A brief history...
After studying architecture and design in the Philippines,
Federico de Vera moved to San Francisco in 1984.
With several years in local galleries, he decided it was
time to express his own vision.
Beginning with two stores in the Hayes Valley area in
1991, de Vera became a destination for the best in
Italian glass and rare objects from around the world.
Over the years, the collection quickly grew and expanded
to a more refined selection of decorative arts from
Europe and Asia as well as Federico's own creations in
furniture and jewelry. In 1997, de Vera moved to two
Union Square locations on Sutter Street and Maiden Lane
focusing on unique necklace and earring designs.
In October 2003, after 12 years in business, de Vera
opened the first store in New York City located at
1 Crosby Street. Now with one store on each coast the
collection continues to expand. In pursuit of the finest
objects and artwork, whether it be a Japanese lacquer
box, hand-blown Venetian glass or a Renaissance
pendant, each item continues to be personally selected
and displayed by Federico for all to acquire and enjoy.
